An Epic Adventure!

You decide to forgo the violence and try to run again. As you try to leap over the branch, you legs crumble. You fall in a heap on the ground with a sickening thud and you feel a pain shoot through your knee and thigh. Your leg got caught up as you tried to jump and wrenched badly as you fell.

The walker is upon you now. He clumsily falls on top of you but manages to sink his teeth into your shoulder as he falls. His bite is deep and sends a spike of hot pain across your back and chest. You try to push him off but his full weight is on top of you now and he's clamoring to wrap his arms around your torso. You try to twist away, but your knee and leg won't let you get traction.

You hands pat the ground for something, anything, to use as a weapon. Your fingers find the branch and you stretch to get a grasp on it. As you stretch, the walker take advantage of the opening and bites firmly into your throat. You feel the hot gush as your carotid opens up. As you try to push him off, you start to feel a calm, lazy feeling wash over you.

You cease fighting and fall back, almost enjoying this new-found peace. Your pain seems to be getting farther away as the dimly lit shapes of the night fade and blend together. You close your eyes.

It's all over. Why not start again.
